Area Measure is built so that we know as little about you as possible. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. This policy covers both the iOS and the Android version, and says so wherever the two behave differently. It explains exactly what information the app touches and where it goes.
Everything you create in the app — measurements, coordinates, notes, tags, photos you attach, drafts, and cached map thumbnails — is stored only on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your data. Your data may be included in your device's own backups — iCloud or a local backup on iOS, Android Backup on Android — which are controlled entirely by your device settings and by Apple's or Google's terms.
The app requests location access only when you use a location feature: showing your position on the map, or recording GPS-based measurements. Location is processed on the device to compute your measurements and is never transmitted to us. The app asks only for foreground access — "While Using the App" on iOS, the equivalent while-in-use permission on Android — and does not track you in the background.
Photos come from one of two places: the camera built into the app, or your system photo picker, which hands over only the photos you explicitly select. Either way they are stored locally alongside your measurement data and leave the device only when you export or share them yourself.
PDF reports, KML, GeoJSON, GPX, and other exports are generated on your device and go only where you send them. We never see them.
Nothing. We run no servers, offer no accounts, and ship no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, so no information about you reaches us. The third-party services listed above receive data directly from your device under their own privacy policies — Google Play's Data safety section reports that as collection, because Play counts anything an SDK sends off the device, and the App Store privacy label is filled in on the same basis.
Area Measure is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change ships.
